Jo Darling Retreats – Terms & Conditions
(For Multi-Day Abroad Retreats)
Effective from 23 July 2026
1. Payment Terms
- If you book more than 60 days before travel, a non-refundable deposit (as stated on the retreat page) secures your place, with the remaining balance due no later than 60 days before travel.
- If you book within 60 days of travel, you must pay the full amount at the time of booking.
- Once your balance has been paid in full (or if you've paid in full at booking), your entire retreat fee becomes non-refundable — but your place remains transferable to another person at any time, right up until the retreat begins. Any deposit paid is non-refundable in all circumstances, including on transfer.
- You can pay via Klarna on this website to spread the cost.
- If you'd like a different payment plan, please contact me via the contact form and I'll do my best to arrange something flexible.
2. What's Included
Your retreat fee includes:
- Accommodation for the full retreat duration
- Group workshops, classes, and sessions as described
- Most meals (check your specific retreat info for what's included)
What's not included:
- Flights or transport to the retreat destination
- Transfers from and to the airport (but I can help you arrange them)
- Travel insurance (mandatory)
- Meals, drinks, or excursions not specified in the itinerary
- Additional treatments, therapies, or one-to-one sessions unless booked separately
3. Travel & Insurance
- You are responsible for arranging your own flights and travel to the retreat starting point. I will recommend suitable flight timings once your place is confirmed, to help coordinate arrival and transfers.
- You are responsible for the cost of travel to and from the retreat meeting point. I work with the retreat centre or hotel to arrange transfers and will coordinate this for you, but the cost of the transfer is yours to cover.
- Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for this retreat, and is a condition of booking. Your policy must cover cancellation, curtailment, delays, medical treatment and evacuation, and personal belongings — and, importantly, must explicitly cover disruption arising from political unrest, civil disturbance, terrorism, or government travel advisories affecting the destination. Not all standard policies include this, so please check before you buy and don't assume a generic policy will respond.
- I do not hold retreat cancellation or medical evacuation insurance on your behalf. Your own policy is your only protection against these risks, so please arrange it as soon as you book.
- You are responsible for ensuring you meet all visa and entry requirements for the destination country, including holding a valid passport.
4. Health & Responsibility
- You are responsible for your own health and wellbeing during the retreat.
- By booking, you confirm you are physically and mentally fit to participate.
- Please disclose any relevant medical conditions or mental health concerns before attending.
- The retreat is not a substitute for therapy or medical treatment.
5. Liability
- Jo Darling Wellness are not liable for any personal injury, loss, damage, or expense incurred during the retreat, unless caused by proven negligence.
- You attend and participate in all activities at your own risk.
6. Changes & Cancellations by Us
I reserve the right to cancel, postpone, or modify the retreat due to circumstances beyond my reasonable control, including but not limited to government travel restrictions, official advice against travel to the retreat location, acts of war, terrorism or civil unrest, natural disasters, public health emergencies, or venue closure.
- My decision on whether the retreat can go ahead will be based on official UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) travel advice for the region, not on personal judgement alone.
- I will monitor FCDO advice throughout the run-up to the retreat and aim to confirm a final go/no-go decision no later than 14 days before the retreat start date, based on the advice in place at that time.
- If FCDO advice changes after that point — including in the days immediately before travel — I reserve the right to cancel or postpone at any time up to departure, and will notify you as soon as possible after the advice changes.
If the retreat cannot proceed for these reasons, you will be offered:
- A transfer of your payment to a future retreat, or
- A refund of retreat fees paid minus a reasonable administration fee of £95 and any non-recoverable costs already paid to venues or suppliers.
Jo Darling Wellness is not responsible for costs incurred outside the retreat fee, including flights, insurance, or other travel arrangements. Where the retreat proceeds despite an active FCDO advisory that you would prefer not to travel under, no refund will be offered — your own decision to withdraw is subject to the standard payment terms above, which is why comprehensive insurance covering this scenario is essential.
7. Behaviour & Group Dynamics
- I aim to create a kind, inclusive and respectful space.
- I reserve the right to ask a participant to leave the retreat (without refund) if their behaviour jeopardises the safety or wellbeing of the group.
8. Acceptance
By booking and paying your deposit, you agree to these Terms & Conditions in full.
